Japan-Canada business advisory for organizations operating across borders.

With lived experience on both sides, we bring together Japanese operational discipline and Western business agility to help organizations and leaders operate with greater clarity and impact.

Tomoko King, Founder & CEO

I help organizations move through the Japan-Canada corridor: entering the market, building relationships that hold, and getting bilateral teams working as one. I also work with Canadian organizations strengthening how they operate through Japan-rooted management practices.

Born in Canada, raised in Osaka, I’ve lived and worked between the two my entire life. That experience shapes how I see people, leadership, and collaboration.

I apply the Authentify Alignment Journey, my framework for moving organizations from assessment through alignment to lasting change. It comes out of 25 years of learning and application: 17 years inside Toyotas operating system, then work across government, healthcare, and education, combining project management and change management best practices. It runs across engagements, whether the work is a market entry project or an established bilateral team that needs to operate as one.

Common Challenges Organizations Face

Whether you’re already working across the corridor, planning to enter Japan, or strengthening how your organization executes, the same patterns surface.

67%

of well-formulated strategies fail due to poor execution.

Teams know the goal, but unclear processes and roles derail delivery.

90%

of executives say miscommunication across cultures directly affects project outcomes.

Cross-border work slows down and key relationships are strained.

22.5%

of foreign-affiliated companies in Japan have actually implemented collaboration with Japanese partners.

Intent is high. Execution is where it stalls.
